Supervision Guide

Overview: The new supervision feature allows for accurate tracking between sessions that require supervision and the supervision sessions themselves.  This is done using a combination of new session fields, appointment types, and reports.

New Session Fields:

Supervision Session (checkbox) If checked = if this session is documenting the actual supervision itself. Usually by a supervisor.

Supervision Occurred (checkbox) If checked = means that a supervision was performed during this specific session. Usually by a tech.

Supervision Session (drop-down menu) = Menu is activated when "Supervision Required" box is checked. Allows you to select sessions with "Supervision Session" checked and associate them with the "Supervision Occurred" session. This step is done automatically overnight when there are matching compatible sessions. This would be optional manual process.

**This process can be handled automatically with appointment types.**

New Appointment Type fields:

-Supervision Session (checkbox): If checked, will automatically check the "supervision session" field on the session

-Supervision Required (checkbox): If checked, will automatically check the "supervision required" on the session

TROUBLESHOOTING:

There needs to be 2 sessions for the supervision feature to function properly. The reason you're getting the "supervision session is required" sign-off error is either A or B:

A. There is 1 session with "Supervision Session" checked (supervisor's), but you do not have a 2nd session with "Supervision Required" checked (tech's).
B. There is 1 session with "Supervision Required" checked (tech's), but you do not have a 2nd session with "Supervision Session" checked (supervisor's).

If you are still experiencing problems related to the update, please provide us with session ID's (on the affected sessions under System Information) and we can troubleshoot further.
