Summary

Students (may also be known as patients) are the central point for almost everything else in the

TotalABA application. The student record contains standard name/address information along with other personal information such as date of birth, gender, social security #, etc. Furthermore, it contains a section for people related to a student such as emergency contacts and authorized pickup persons.

If your practice is integrated with LeonardoMD Renaissance, then select student information is synchronized with the billing application. This means that students created in Renaissance will be automatically added to TotalABA and vice-versa. See Appendix A for further details.

Select the Billing Provider on the student record if you would like that billing provider to be the default value on all new sessions for that student. This should be used if only one provider is ever used for insurance billing purposes.

The Default Funding Type and Default Contract may be selected on the student record. This helps determine what funding type, funding source and contract is used on a new session.

Inactive students cannot have associated records created for them.

Associated records are also available on the student record. This means that the record has a direct link to the student. The associated record types are:

· Open Activities

· Notes & Attachments

· Appointments

· Authorizations

· Insurance Coverages

· Problems

· Sessions
