Signing-off

Signing-off on a session marks the status as completed. Furthermore, if Send Billing Message is checked, then the corresponding billing record will be automatically created in the billing system (separate software). Only authorized users are able to sign-off on a session.

If a student has multiple sessions for the same day, you may be required to sign-off on more than one at the same time. This is true if all of the criteria below are met. The sessions are then combined into a single superbill which combines all the data from the sessions and adds the units together for duplicate procedures.

· The funding type is Insurance or the funding source for the contract has Batch Sessions on Sign- Off selected

· Same student

· Same authorization # on the appointment (if an authorization exists)

· Same date of service (the time in and time out may be different)

· Same billing provider

· Same location (this is derived from the corresponding appointment)

· Same diagnosis code 1

· Session is not flagged as Non-Billable

· Send Billing Message is the same

The session sign-off screen lists the various sessions for the student on the given day. It indicates which sessions must be signed-off together along with warnings (e.g. procedure code does not match the code on the corresponding authorization), missing data and sessions that have been signed-off already. All sessions that are signed-off after the 1.97 release of TotalABA will have a corresponding superbill

record.
